Keir Starmer Meets Donald Trump to Build Diplomatic Ties

Mr. Starmer saw former US President Trump for the first time during his visit to New York as UK Prime Minister.

On Thursday, they were accompanied by Foreign Secretary David Lammy; the two leaders met as such.

Keir was in New York for the United Nations General Assembly but also met Trump.

For the present, the government and Trump himself have not commented on the meeting or its contents.

According to BBC, the PM said it was ‘good’ that he had the chance to meet the Republican presidential nominee, and it was ‘actually to create a relationship of’ the two of them.

But Trump also sent good signals about Keir before their meeting: ‘I actually think he’s very nice.’ He ran a great race and did very well. It's very early, and he’s very popular.

However, it bears mentioning that Sir Keir did not meet the Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris on his US tour.

Before that, he also wanted to discuss with Kamala before the US presidential election on November 5.

However, owing to the “usual diary challenge,” the two could not meet.
